Where did the month go? And such a strange month weather wise here in the Chicagoland area. We really have not gotten any measurable snow and what we have gotten has melted with the almost 50 degree temps not long after.

However, today it is snowing. So pretty to look out the window to see the snow softly falling. And when it is like this out it seems so quiet and peaceful. Ok until the neighbors get out their snowmobiles and go out on the lake. I don't think they will be doing that today though as it has been too warm and the lake is not completely frozen anymore.

Here are my Great Nephews from Christmas this last year. From oldest to youngest so we will start with Cooper.

I was a little more detailed on this layout and worked on it for over 3 days. I kept going back to do something else but the end result was well worth it. I used so much different media on this layout from my copic markers to Shimmerz pearlz and vibez on the doily behind his picture. The tag with the little snowman is just a regular tag that someone had on one of my Christmas bags a few years ago. They didn't write on it and I thought it was too cute to throw away. I also used leftovers from my Christmas cards, the reindeer and snowflakes. The sticker letters are from my stash along with the brads, rubon stitches and little gift sticker on my journaling.

Here is Finn my next oldest Great Nephew. I played with him on the floor for most of the day as he is so much fun. Isn't he the cutest with all that red hair. The photo turned out a bit blurry not sure why.
The little reindeer stamp in the corner I made quite some time ago. I used Flower Soft on the antlers and snow underneath the deer. And yes I used my slice to cut out his name. Must use what we have right? :)

And last but certainly not least is my newest Great Nephew Brady. He was born this last November. He was a sleepy guy but I got to hold him for a little bit despite all the wires and monitors.The little blue buttons under his picture spell out his name. Those are really old and have been in my stash forever.

As promised I am back to share my layout that I did for my 2012 word that I chose. This years word is going to be 'Time'. For me this means simply more time for me. Be it reading, scrapbooking, working out, playing games whatever I chose to do I am going to make sure I do it.

Here are some close ups. The doily in the corner was punched from plastic then I used some Picket Fence distress stain on the back. I added distress ink to the clock face, butterfly wings, flowers and the letters for time then dabbed some multi matte medium as the color wouldn't dry on the metal.

This next project was made for one of my girlfriends. It is the felt bag that I found on Pinterest with a few changes. I made the handles thicker and added cotton fabric on the reverse side to give the handles more substance. She loves blue. The flowers on the front of the bag were done with an air gun for my Copic markers and a mask by Heidi Swapp.Inside the bag she found this

I love these configuration boxes by Tim Holtz. So versatile and easy to do. I made sure to include not only a picture of the 2 of us in Chicago under the Bean in Millennium Park but also a cute little bird cage (again Tim Holtz) some bottles filled with blue beads and finally her favorite thing items depicting Paris.

She was very surprised and just loved her gift.

Last day of the long weekend

Tomorrow it is back to work. Hoping the week is productive yet flies. I have so many customers that I need to get to closing it isn't even funny so if the work flows properly I should be able to get the majority of them done. Wish me luck!
Today I ran some errands with hubby and then came home to eat lunch. While eating I was reading my library book on my Nook, Undone by Karin Slaughter, great book and I just can't put it down. But down it must go as I want to finish working on the configurations box I am making for one of my girlfriends. She has no idea and I would like to have it done by next weekend to give her as a little surprise. I also made her one of the those felt bags from Pinterest in this really pretty blue color. I decorated the front with my Copic markers and a mask from Heidi Swapp. I reenforced the handle with some added material and really like how it turned out. I will take some pictures before I give her the loot and post it.

I just loved the 12 tags that Tim just did on his blog in December. I was having a really hard time coming up with a design for my Christmas cards this year. I saw him do this really cool technique then another and yet another. When I incorporated them all together I came up with my Christmas card for 2011.

I am making a promise to myself to get on here more to update all that is going on. I noticed my last post was in March last year. Wow that is a long time. Since then I went on vacation with a girlfriend, Denise, to Arizona. What a beautiful place I could see myself there someday. The air was such that I never once had a headache that was so amazing. The climate is so dry and it is the same every day. Sunny and 100. That was at the beginning of June.
At work I have a new boss. He is a very interesting person and fun to work for. He makes things interesting and really understands how our jobs effect us. He is also very smart when it comes to questions with underwriting as that is how I had first met him as my underwriter. Seems like ages ago when in fact it was probably only 5 yrs.
The first day of the new year here is very gloomy. Rain looks like it is changing to either icy precipitation or snow. I truly don't care much but my husband is at work today. Hoping this doesn't mess up his being able to leave early and be home by 2. I completely didn't buy anything for dinner tonight when I went shopping yesterday and don't feel like taking his truck to the store. My suv is still out of commission, another story, and not even here but at a friend of my son's.
Enough for now as I want to post my Christmas card and get it on Tim Holtz's blog before the deadline this morning.

I had the most weird dream last night. I was going through my grandma's house looking to see if I wanted to keep anything after she had passed. My Grandma has been gone for over 30 years and the house I was going through was the one that they owned here in the city. My grandparents retired to Florida while I was still in school.
Then at the end of my dream just before I woke up I was driving away but the cross street was totally flooded. I decided to turn around and go back to Grandma's but just then a huge wave of water was running through her backyard. Not exactly possible as they lived nowhere near the lake.
I wonder if watching the move 2012 had anything to do with the huge wave? But very odd that I had this dream as I was not even thinking of her yesterday.
This ended up waking me early today so I had a very productive day.

I have not updated this blog for over a year holy cow!
I wanted to just put in writing how I am feeling today. A little sad, a little glad (I have the day off of work) and a little torn.
A little sad because the endeavor my sister and I overtook 2 yrs ago is coming to an end. Scrappin Mojo is closing next week Monday, January 24th. I have met some wonderful ladies and had some friends follow me over there. It was fun to be on the design team, come up with games/challenges for our online crops and just be there for each other. My sister has started a photography business in addition to teaching H.S. so just doesn't have the time nor the inclination to continue Mojo. I certainly cannot do it alone either time-wise nor monetarily.
A little glad because I have today off for MLK as I work for a bank. I was able to get together with a girlfriend I used to work with and we shopped then just hung out a bit. I miss seeing her on a daily basis :( . I also bought a new coffee maker, the Keurig, which of course I tried out after lunch today. Fun and yummy! The snow is beautiful but I will have to go out soon to clear the driveway somewhat for my husband. I know he won't want me too but I feel too guilty not to lol. Kwim?
And finally a little torn as I am unsure where I am now going to hang out online. I went back to my normal place over at Two peas and immediately remembered why I was eager to leave. It is so hard to keep up with all the chat and I feel guilty if I miss someone. So now where do I go?................................

I made it safe and sound on Sunday morning.
My sister and I have been having a blast so far. Today we went for massages which really relieved some of the stress from my shoulders.

I am so excited tomorrow morning, ok not excited about the time, I will be Florida bound. I will be in Tampa by 11:15am and will get to see my little sister after more than a year. Can't wait to give her a huge hug! Course my brother in law will be with ; ) so he will get a big hug too.
I guess I will be getting a glimpse across a crowded store of my nephew while he is at work. Poor guy. I will get to see him though next Friday with his cute girlfriend.
Yep I will be missing Chi town but this is a much needed rest from work. I actually have 2 weeks off! Can you say happy dance all over the place. I admit to doing a little happy dance in the elevator on my way down yesterday. I couldn't get home fast enough to start this much deserved time off.
Jan and I will be really busy while I am there but I love helping her out even with the smallest of projects.

I can't believe how long it has been since I have last posted on here.
We had to put down Jazzy this spring as she was really sick. Broke my heart but it was better for her. The other three are doing fine.
I thought I would share some of the work I have done in the past months.
This first one was using one of our sponsor kits by Theresa Collins. I just could not resist these pictures of me when I was 16 lol. And of course the next lo is of our precious Jasmine using another of TC pp's.

This next one is a favorite photo of mine of Belle. The sponsor was TaDa they had such a cute line. The pp actually is cut out at the bottom and I put another of their pp's behind for a fun look.

This one is of Bill when he was 3 cute picture of him on his birthday. This sponsor is Jillibean Soup. She has some really cute pp with adorable alphas, flowers and other really cute embellies.

I knew this was going to happen. I have too many things that I am trying to do so something always suffers. Guess this being the newest thing has suffered the most.

I have a major fiasco today. Seems my youngest furrbaby decided to live a little on the wild side. Bought gave me a heart attack as he got under our deck which is very big. It is impossible for a human to move around underneath as it is virtually inches in places instead of feet between the bottom of the boards and the dirt. He got to a place that we couldn't even see. After quite some time my son was finally able to get him to move by stomping and yelling. So he naturally moved to the other end where I was waiting. I was able to grab his feet but he was managing to get loose when my son came to the rescue getting a better grip. We finally got him in the house and I got to take another shower. I was full of dirt and other yuck ewwww.... He is acting like nothing happened and I am itching up a storm.

I am off to watch some more Olympics.

I see some of my cyber gf's dropped in woohoo!
I am very happy I didn't bother with that shower before I ran my errands. It was like being in a misting shower and my hair just looks fab! I stopped at M's to use my coupon. When do we ever buy 1 thing? I ended up with about $20 worth of fun stuff that I really should be playing with instead of blogging. Then it was off to PetSmart to pick up my furrbabies Eucanuba lamb & rice. Boy is that stuff expensive! A quick trip to Walmart then home again to workout, eat lunch and finally get that shower in.
Hopefully some sbing is in my near future we shall see.

I am completely new to this whole blogging thing. I have several friends who do it so I thought lets give it a try.
This last week has been very unsettling. Through my own stupidity someone got my sign in for paypal and helped himself to over three thousand dollars. Paypal has managed to obtain almost all of the funds back but they haven't put them in my checking account yet. That also meant stopping on my way home from work one night to fill out a dispute form. What a hassle and believe me that account will be closed once this is all cleared up.
Today we woke to storms booming overhead. The rain has cleared but it is very gloomy outside what a great day to scrapbook! First I have to workout then run errands.
