Papertrey October blog hop challenge

Papertrey Ink has a blog hop today.  I choose two different color combinations to use and then broke out some stamps that I have not used yet.

I used my garden grace stamp set for the flowers and songbirds set for the happy birthday music.

Here are the colors for my next card.

I am so glad I purchased the Songbirds stamp/die set from the current October release.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello again.  Wow two posts in one month I think that is a record for me.
I have been struggling to figure out what I was going to do with Tim Holtz's altered clock.  I watched a ton of YouTube videos, checked out blogs and scoured sites looking for ideas.  Finally I decided on at least a color scheme.
My new bedroom color is a very cool green and I have some really colorful art above the bed.  So keeping with those red, green and orange colors I misted the heck out of the clock after coating it with two coats of gesso.  I used my fingers in the gesso to give some additional texture.

Here is a picture of that

Once I had that done I had to figure out what I wanted to do inside.  I played with the idea of a Prima door with some flowers and clock pieces but then thought of my PTI die that is a clock face/hands.  I thought this was perfect.  The only problem was it was too thin so going with the trends of today I cut it out four times then glued them together.  Here is what that looked like

Here is how they looked side by side before and after

That made it nice and thick.

After assembling those I decided to see how it looked on the clock inside back.

I really liked how that looked!  And then it was an accident that I found on my table this for the center of the clock hands and how cute does this look?

Did I mention that I got that cute little orange/peachy flower from this months card kit from Mary?  Perfect match!  Thanks Mary :)
So I started to put it all together.  Here is the finished product.  I have to apologize in advance as I used my Iphone to take my pictures and didn't notice you can see the reflection in the glass.

Hello I see it has been quite some time since my last blog post.  Today I had the day off and decided to watch the YouTube video from Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday.  The technique really appealed to me so I decided to try it out.

First is a link to their video if you would like to try this

Make it Monday

Here is what I came up with.

All of my supplies I purchased are from PTI.  The flower dies and stamps are Delightful Dahlia, the sentiment is from Beautiful Butterflies and the border stamp is from Ombre Builders.  The colors I used are melon berry, harvest gold and simply chartreuse.

If you try this out make sure to share with me.

Thanks for stopping by!

It is that time of month again.......card kit reveal.
This month Beth supplied us with our kit.  It is an absolute adorable kit filled with everything needed to make any type of card from valentine's, birthday to just hello.

I decided this month that I really needed to use stamps that I have either had or just purchased along with my Copic markers.  They certainly do no good sitting in a bin or drawer and are so cute on cards.  That is why I bought them in the first place.

There is something so appealing in this image besides it not being a winter scene that just draws me in.  I thought it would be the perfect card to welcome the newest addition to our clan my great niece.  I put the little crown included in the kit on her head and used my bow easy to tie the double bow.

This little fairy is just so adorable.  I matched the colors to the paper of which I cut out with a new die that I have never used.  I also used flock in white to make it look more like snow under her feet and a little bit on the 'hi' in the corner along with a piece of washi tape along the bottom.

This owl is so cute I wanted a simple design to really showcase him or maybe it is a her.  I used the pink heart from the kit which fit perfectly over the heart on the owl stamped image.  The background stamp was done in Papertrey kraft ink which I then added a few pieces of the patterned paper in strips.  The Happy Valentine day saying was cut using a heart shaped die but I had to add some paper on the back as there was not enough room for this cut out.  I then used another background stamp with Papertrey raspberry fizz and another pink from Heidi Swapp to give the heart some texture.

This next card was stamped using a free stamp from one of my magazine subscriptions over in the UK.  Love all the freebies I get.   The background was done with ink and a stencil.  The image was colored in with my Copics and the double bow was tied with my bow easy.

Last but certainly not least is this little turtle stamp.  I used the speech bubble from the kit and used Heidi Swapp stamps for both the sentiment and the little flags.  The flower in the bottom is from a previous kit but the leaves were from this current one.  I used some twine from Doodlebug under the speech bubble.  Attaching this was a challenge as I was unsure how to keep this under the speech bubble effectively.  I ended up using my good old hot glue gun.

That is it for this month I hope you enjoyed.  Thanks for stopping by.

I didn't realize it has been this long since I have posted here on my blog.  Of course the holidays have come and gone.  The Polar vortex has come then come again and hopefully is gone for the year.  The snow has come and keeps coming with no end in site but we do live in the Midwest.

What brings me here today with you is PTI is having their 7th Anniversary celebration.  I have Beth to thank for sharing her love of their products and design team.  Not so sure how much my wallet likes her though or my husband if he had any idea.

I have created 3 cards using their color and sketch recipes.  I had such a fun time creating them!

So here we go.

I used PTI ink colors, new leaf, hawaiian shores, hibiscus burst, aqua mist & pure poppy.  I used Delightful Dahlia addition stamp set by Dawn McVey.  I just love this set and realized I need the original 1st set as well.

This next one is for one of my nephews so I liked this masculine design and color scheme.  The PTI ink colors used are ripe avocado, new leaf, hawaiian shores, aqua mist and classic kraft.  I used Stylish Sentiments for the saying.

For this last card I used PTI ink colors hawaiian shores, summer sunrise, raspberry fizz and pure poppy (the recipe called for scarlet jewel but I don't have that color yet).  I used Mat stack 6 stamp and dies along with Garden stamps by Dawn McVey.

I also took this picture, I really don't like selfie's, for their birthday celebration.

That is it for today's creative share.  I hope you enjoyed it.
