Baby shower

This week there is a baby shower for one of the sweetest ladies I have ever had the pleasure of working with.  I had to make a special card for her and this is what I decided to create.

I just love this new color by Papertrey Ink, the name is Green Parakeet.  I used the cardstock to cut out the mat stack then used the ink to stamp both the image for the mat along with the sentiment.  I found the little piggy in my stash along with the buttons.  I think she is going to love it. :)

Supplies:
PTI
Cardstock - white and Green Parakeet
Harvest Gold patterned paper
Ink - Green Parakeet
A2 Noted scalloped die (for base card)
Mat stack 6 die and stamp
Cutting Garden stamp for sentiment

Making Memories - Pitterpatter felt sticker & buttons

Creative Chemistry 103

If you know me at all you know I am a huge Tim Holtz fan.  I love everything distress and have such a hard time making a card or layout 'clean' without some type of distressing.  If you get cards from me you know exactly what I am talking about.
This technique was fun but because I used my Misti tool on the first one, the one that looks like Tim's example project, I didn't get the shadow I was going for.  I like how the Picket Fence distress ink brings out the true color on kraft cardstock and will be using this in the future.  Here is the one similar to his:

I liked this so much, and need so many cards this month, I decided to try this again but not use the Misti.  I used PTI and MFT products along with the picket fence distress ink to see if I could get the same desired effect.  I like this one better because you see a little more of the white shadow.

Supplies:

Stampers Anonymous - Wildflowers
Distress ink - Mermaid lagoon, broken china, crushed olive, peeled paint and picket fence
Anniversary stamp PTI - Keep it simple

Ink- Picket fence distress ink
PTI ink - Raspberry fixx, berry sorbet, summer sunrise, orange zest, spring moss and ripe avocado
Stamps -
PTI - Make it Market kit - Bloomin' cute and Boutique borders birthday
MFT - Sketched Blooms

Thanks for stopping by!

If you haven't yet and love Tim Holtz as much as I do stop by Online card classes to check out this lastest in the Creative Chemistry series.  See you there!

PTI - Masters STAMP-A-FAIRE 2016

This last Saturday Papertrey Ink had lots of challenges with some great tutorials by some of their design team members.  I have been able to complete only one of the challenges thus far but even if I don't get them done in time I am still going to give them a try.

The challenge I was able to complete was done by Kay Miller.  The challenge was called Watercolor like a master.  I just loved how the stamp set Kay used looked so I decided to use that as well.  I tried some different color combinations but to be honest the ones she choose looked best.  Here is my card:

Some of the watercoloring could have been a little softer but this was a great lesson.

Supplies:

Ranger watercolor paper

PTI
Lovely lady cardstock
Stamps - Mums the word & Bold blossoms for the birthday sentiment
Ink - Summer sunrise, berry sorbet, spring moss, simply chartreuse and ripe avacado

Thanks for stopping by.

PTI create with us

As this last week was release time for the new products at Papertrey Ink for March the Make it Monday is instead a Create with us.  This is where you can pick a designer's creation that you would like to use as inspiration.  You can find them all here PTI.
I choose a lovely card by Laurie Willison.  Here is the link to her blog Soapbox Creations.  Here is the card I chooose

What I liked was the soft color behind her flowers.  Mine is a little bolder than Laurie's but I really like how it turned out.  Of course I had a few little failures first as seen here.

Because this was such a mess I decided to try out a bunch of different colors to see which worked best with the design I had in mind.  Here is my finished card

I hope my girlfriend likes it!

Supplies:
Papertrey ink:
Hibiscus Burst cardstock
Raspberry Fizz ink
Fancy Pants sentiments stamps
Wink of Stella for sparkle
Distress Marker - Wilted violet
Small flowers for bling

PTI's 9th anniversary continued

This is the last day to work on challenges over at PTI.  I have written down a bunch of the challenges as I have a few cards that I need to make so that I can get them out in the mail on Tuesday.  I always plan on getting my cards done in advance but it never works out that way.
This challenge is the Color pop fortune teller.  I remember making these when we were in grade school but for the life of me can't remember what we wrote inside.  I will have to ask one of my girlfriends.

My colors were raspberry fizz, berry sorbet and royal velvet.  I had to add a leaf color for my flowers so choose spring moss.
Here is my card

Supplies (all are PTI)

Ombre stripes paper for background
Fall Florals stamps/dies
Ink - Berry sorbet, Royal velvet and Spring Moss

I will be back later with more :)

PTI's 9th anniversary

PTI has a multitude of challenges, new product peeks and just bunches of un going on from the 5th until the 15th of this month.  You can find the fun here PTI.
For their color challenge I chose one of the lighter combinations to color this simple sympathy card.
I masked off the flowers and colored the background with the classic kraft ink.  After removing the mask I put some of the ink to color the flowers and leaves on  my craft sheet and used a Brushstix by Imagine to color in my image.

Supplies
PTI Bold Blossoms coloring sheets & cardstock (berry sorbet)
Ink- Classic kraft, Aqua mist, Berry sorbet & Lemon tart
Jillian Vance design - Sympathy stamp
And stamp inside the card is PTI tucked in sympathy by Raspberry Suite
Masking fluid

Simon Says Monday challenge

Dinner is done and cleaned up.  Company has gone home so I thought while I was waiting for the dishwasher to finish I would make another card.  I have this really cute die from SSS that I have not tried yet so wanted to break that out with a stamp set from PTI.  I have to say I really love how this turned out even though it was a little more challenging with the masking that I decided to do with the little deer.
Here is my card

I used the stick it product behind the die but want to put a little multi medium matte behind a few places that I see not quite down the way I want.

Supplies:
Simon Says stamp die - Merry Christmas
Papertrey Ink - Tinsel & tags stamps, Winter woods paper and ink colors are fine linen, hawaiian shores and tropical teal

Thanks for stopping by!

Simon says Monday Challenge

It was so nice that this challenge ran for 2 weeks and as usual I waited until almost the last minute to create!  Here is a link to the challenge as there is still time to enter Simon says and enter you should.  The prize is a gift cert to Simon Says online store.  Ok who doesn't like shopping there lets be honest.

Without further ado here is my entry

I bought these moose stamps when they were released and this is the first time I have used them.  I learned a lesson however which is the PTI paper I used for the background doesn't like Copic markers very much.  There was quite a bit of bleeding but I thought it added to the charm.

Supplies:

Unity -
Itty bitty's - (moose)ing you, Happy Kiss-Moose and A(moose)ing holiday
Avery Elle - Wonky stitches Die (found here) wonky stitches
Papertrey Ink - Tinsel and Tags paper
The paper company - weave aqua (cardstock)
Copic - BG15, BG49, E43, E50 & R35
