It's Christmas Card day

Over at SimonSaysBlog they are having a contest to win a gift certificate to their online store for uploading a picture of your Christmas cards that you have made this year.
I was going to quickly upload my photos using PhotoBucket to no avail.  That website drives me nutty.  So a quick blog post and off I go.
Here are 2 of my cards that I have made this year.  I used some really cute stamps.  The snowmen are available on SimonSays online store.

Thanks for stopping by.

PTI Stamp-A-Faire 2017

I needed to make a birthday card for my niece but really didn't know exactly what I wanted to create. After checking out the various challenges for Stamp A Faire I choose the challenge for 8th Anniversary- Bronze. You can find that here. To see all of the challenges you can start on the main page here.

This is Kimberly's example

And here is what I decided to make with this in mind.  The photo doesn't show the shimmer very well my lighting was bad due to the overcast weather.

I would definitely use this technique again.

Supplies:

PTI
Ink- Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Fine Linen & Cocoa Bea
Stamp sets - Delightful Dahlia, Delightful Dahlia additions (so easy to line up and use), Stemmed Statements (niece), Cover Up Quatrefoil
Tropical Teal cardstock

Versamark ink
Perfect Pearls Super Bronze

I am hoping to try a few more challenges before the deadline of Thursday.

Thanks for stopping by!

PTI July Create with Us

This months release over at Papertrey Ink was right up my alley with the cover plate stamps by Dawn McVey. I of course love all of her projects and designs so cannot wait until I get my order :)
This week's Monday challenge, because it was release week, is a Create with Us. You can use any designer, or multiple, to create your own project.
Because I love all of Dawn's color combinations and designs I choose one of hers.
This is what I chose

I would never have used some of those color combinations. Here is my creation

I used the Art Deco background basics stamp along with Grans Garden for the flowers.

May PTI blog hop

This month's blog hop had some interesting colors and elements that gave me so many ideas.  I have tried to water color before without much success.  I had to make a special birthday card this past weekend and thought to incorporate the color scheme from the blog hop inspirational photo along with trying my hand once again at watercoloring.
Here is the photo:

I really liked the blue green leaves with all the pretty peach and pink flowers.

Here is what I have come up with.  I am just loving making matching envelopes lately.

The card design was lifted from DT member Michelle.  Thanks Michelle!

Mix & Mat Herringbone die
Happy birthday die

MFT watercolor wash paper for HB die

Rainy Sunday

Because it is so lovely outside today I thought I would take the time to make both my nephew and his son their birthday cards today.
Rory's card was effortless and I was so happy with the results.  I found the idea over at PTI from one of the DT members using my new Pen & Ink stamp set.
Here is the result and I hope he loves it as much as I do.

Aiden's cards was a little more challenging.  I really wanted to use Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs stamps and stagger them making it look like a crowd was wishing this little guy a happy birthday.  My first attempt ended up being my spring board for coloring and then it was tossed in the trash.  My second attempt I used different tools to color.  I still had to stamp and then stamp again on sticky notes to cut out masks.  Here is what that looked like.

This card took me all afternoon but I just love how it turned out.

I stamped 3 birthday hats on the dogs to represent Aiden's 3rd birthday.  I also stamped one of the dogs on the envelope for some added fun.

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S.  Janice next time I would love the company and the help when creating :)

Papertrey Ink - Create with us

Papertrey Ink had their April release this week.  They also had their Create with us challenge instead of their normal Make it Monday which gives more autonomy with so many design team members creations to choose from.
Here is the link PTI
I just fell in love with this particular design because of the shadows.  It definitely helped me decide to purchase this new stamp set by Dawn McVey.  Isn't it lovely?

Here is my creation.

My leaves are a little bit darker and I am wondering if she stamped off with them first.

Supplies:
PTI stamps - Bold Blossoms, Happiness in bloom and Meadow Greens
PTI ink - Smokey Shadow, Summer Sunrise, Bright Buttercup and Soft Stone

PTI Make it Monday

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend.  I just had a yummy sushi lunch with my son and that just made my day.
I finished this card that I started when I was home sick with a cold on Monday.
I really like how it turned out except that the vellum slipped a little so my sewing at the top is not exactly straight.  I vowed to like my imperfection and move on.  Here is my card:

I hope you had time to create this weekend as well.
Thanks for stopping by.
