One stamp 5 ways

This is my last post from my online card class using one stamp five ways.  I was only able to do two different ways but plan on some more later.
It was so difficult taking a picture of this card as it is shiny, the sun is going down and the multi medium matte is not dry.  Sorry for the glue spots.
Here it is:

Supplies:
DCWV embossed foil paper
Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz - Scribbly Christmas
Sizzix - Tim Holtz Alterations - celebrate - Happy die
PTI - Christmas Cheer - Holiday die
Ranger embossing sticky powder
Foil paper
Stickles - Xmas red

Last lesson and Make it Monday challenge

Today's post is for both my online card class and the Make it Monday over at PTI.  Here are the links to both sites PTI Make it Monday and Online Card Classes.
Over at PTI, Dawn McVey created a soft and subtle card on kraft cardstock.  I decided to incorporate that into my last day of class using the soft and subtle approach.
Here is what Dawn made:

The premise is to use a white ink first which will then give you a truer color of the ink you use next.  I really liked this idea and choose a more subtle pallet.
Here is my card:

I really like how this turned out so soft with just a punch of shine with the tinsel.

Supplies:

Papertrey Ink cardstock Aqua Mist
Papertrey Ink - ink - Ocean Tides, Hawaiian Shore, Aqua Mist and Fresh Snow
Papertrey Ink - O'Tannenbaum stamp (merry sentiment stamp)
My Favorite Things - Hand lettered holiday (christmas sentiment stamp)
Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz - Scribbly Christmas
Tim Holtz idea-ology - Tinsel- Winter

Shimmer and shine along with Soft and Subtle

As I have said before, I am having a great time taking this online class over at Online Card Classes.  The teachers are all so diverse in their ideas and styles it truly is something for everyone.
Day 7 was shimmer and shine.  There were some great ideas and I decided to try one of the techniques that Yana Smakula showed.
Here is my card:

This was the perfect way to spend my Sunday afternoon on a day that only got into the 20's.  Brrr......

Supplies:

DCWV embossed foil paper (for sentiment)
Tim Holtz Idea-ology paper stash - Yuletide (snowflake pattern on top)
Prima - North Country collection
PTI - Christmas Cheer (Holiday word die)
Sizzix - Tim Holtz Alterations - celebrate
Darice - hemp

Day 9 was for soft and subtle.  I watched the first video and knew exactly what I wanted to do.  It is very close to the instructors but honestly once I got the idea ........ you get the picture.
Next time I wouldn't drop so many droplets of shimmer as it mixed with my watercolor and made white spots.
Here is my card:

Supplies:

PTI - stamp set Joyful Christmas for sentiment
Tim Holtz alterations - Tree line die
vellum by PTI
Distress paper by Ranger
Zig clean color pen - deep green
Memento ink - London Fog
Macro Pearl powder for flicking onto finished card
Shrinky dink reindeer die cut with Tim Holtz alterations die Reindeer Flight

Crazy birds

Last card for today.
I am taking a class at Online Card Classes entitled Holiday Style.  I am having so much fun creating these fantastic cards.
This card took the most time due to all of the die cuts and the multiple times I had to stamp the falling snow.  I did lift the teacher, Nichol Magouirk, as the design was absolutely perfect!
As you know I love the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps and jump at the chance to use them.  Here is my lift:

Here are my supplies:

Stampers Anonymous- Tim Holtz - Bird Crazy and Crazy Things
Sizzix - Tim Holtz - dies to match both stamp sets
Simon Says Stamp - Stitched slopes and hills dies
My Favorite Things - Hand lettered holiday stamps
Ink - Memento/Tuxedo Black
Ranger - Distress ink/Blueprint Sketch
Papertrey Ink - Fresh Snow hybrid
Ranger - Multi Medium Matte glue
Copic colors - C1, C4, R27, R29, RV25 & RV29

Thanks for stopping by.

Online Card Classes

As I had mentioned yesterday I am taking a class over at Online Card Classes entitled Holiday Style.  The teachers are all very different in their styles but all are creating projects that are very easy to duplicate in your own style.
Here is my card from day 3.

The hardest part on this card was the embossing.  I am definitely not a pro so skipped and used a Wink of Stella pen, in gold, for the border of the card and the little ornaments on the tree.  I still embossed the star on the tree and the sentiment.

Supplies:

Ranger distress ink - Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap - Archival ink by Wendy Vecchi in Fern Green and Jet Black
Versamark ink
Shellac Gold embossing powder
Wink of Stella pen in gold
My Favorite things - Hand lettered holiday stamp -christmas
Papertrey Ink - O'Tannenbaum stamp set - merry

Sorry I have to add this photo of my sweet boy who usually sits in my craft room with me.  I miss you buddy!!!

PTI create along with us

With this month's release the normal Make it Monday is changed to Create along with us.  There were so many wonderful projects it was really hard to choose.
Normally I find something of Dawn McVey's to use for an idea but this month was a little different as a project of Heather Nichols really grabbed my eye so I had to try it out.
Here is the project that I really enjoyed and used for inspiration:

I just loved all of the different elements but what really grabbed me was the tone on tone and that great pop of color in the middle.  Here is mine:

Supplies:

PTI
O'Tannenbaum stamps
Ink
Classic kraft, new leaf, pure poppy, hibiscus burst, harvest gold, summer sunrise and fresh snow.

I have to also mention that I just love my Misti tool as it really assisted in the stamping!

I have many cards to make this month so thought I would try one of the techniques.  I have to say I liked the technique but hated my coloring so I turned it over to use the other side.  Amazing that is the side I should have been coloring in the first place lol.  Leave it to me to do things backwards.
I think my nephew is going to like this, or at least I hope so.  Here it is

Here is a list of my supplies:

Papertrey Ink July blog hop

It is that time again another blog hop over at my secret obsession or maybe not so secret lol.  This month the focus was on butterflies and here is the inspiration piece.

I have been neglecting my crafting except for card making lately so decided to make a page for one of my journals.  I had this great idea but when I laid it all out it wasn't exactly as I had imagined.  I looked through my stash and found some pre made butterflies that would work perfectly they just needed some color.  Of course I grabbed my PTI ink as it is my favorite.

Here is my creation

I really like how this turned out and once it is completely dry I will put it away.

Here is a list of my supplies:

Gesso
Wendy Vichi embossing paste

Simon Says Get in Shape

This idea has been rattling around in my head all day.  Once I got home from work and worked out I knew that I was going to skip my walking routine with my friend in lieu of making this card.  I love how it turned out and I know the friend I am sending it to will love it as well.

Here is a link to the challenge  Simon Says get in shape

Here is my card

I used PTI stamps and ink along with spritzing the background with some distress ink.  You know I can never leave something white.

PTI challenge

Good morning everyone.  This week over at Papertrey Ink the challenge that took the place of their Make it Monday was to 'Create along with us'.  They asked that we pick a project that one of the design team members created to use as inspiration.
You know that I just love Dawn McVey and all of her creations.  They just speak to me so I chose this one that she created for the July product reveal.

I had a vision of how I wanted to design my card and it didn't turn out exactly as planned.  I am not too sure I really like it but I love this technique that Dawn used.  I just think I need the right stamp set to achieve the look I was hoping for :)

Here is mine

I added some little touches of blue at the top of the card using a distress marker and the distress maker spritzer by Tim Holtz.

Thanks Dawn for the inspiration you always challenge me!

Supplies:
Papertrey Ink
Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie step 2 stamps
Rosie Posie dies
sentiment from Cutting Garden
Ink smokey shadow
Zig clean color makers for the flowers -orange, bright yellow and pink

Sketch Saturday

I really enjoy checking out all of the blogs I follow but the best ones are those that have some great card sketches.  These challenge me to get those cards made ahead of time instead of those last minute cards you throw together.

This week over at Sketch Saturday they had the cutest sketch that I thought would be perfect for my Great Nephews 4th birthday.

Here is their sketch

This one is really versatile as it would look great turned in any direction as well as the original sketch.  I used the original sketch without really altering it too much.

Here is my creation

Chipboard misc - stars
Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangles die

Papertrey Ink

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 8th anniversary this week.  Every day they have posted sneak peeks of new products along with challenges.  These challenges enter you into their drawing of 8 PTI gift certificates.  Who doesn't love that!  Here is a link to Nichole's blog PTI.

I made 4 different projects, honestly I wanted to do them all but didn't have time, using of course 4 of their challenges.  Here they are:

This first one is from their 'Build a bouquet' challenge.  I made this card for my bosses birthday which happens to be today.

Supplies:

Stamps
Meadow Greens
Year of Flowers
Keep it Simple - Birthday
Bountiful banners - stamp and die to match

PTI ink
Terracota Tile
Orange Zest
Spring Moss
Winter Wisteria

Copics
BG10 & YG95  - sky and grass

This next one is using the ombre technique.  I needed a nice manly card for my nephew whose birthday is coming up this week.

Supplies:

Ombre builders stamps and die

PTI ink
Enchanted Evening
Blueberry Sky
Spring Rain
Smokey Shadow - HB stamp

PTI cardstock Blueberry Sky
Water color paper so that I could add water to create that really cool effect

The next one is a gift bag and tag set.  I thought that my little 'greats' would love this at Christmas time.  The boys are all about snowmen.  I used a regular paper bag that was in my stash to create the bag itself and then just used 2 different stamp sets repeating the pattern to decorate the bag.  The tag was cut with my Coluzzle (remember that tool?) and stamped with that cute PTI stamp.  I don't mind being ahead of the game even if Christmas is 10 months away!

Supplies:

PTI stamps
Holiday Cheer
Pom Pom Pals

PTI ink
Pure Poppy
Hibiscus Burst
Raspberry Fizz
New Leaf
Ripe Avocado
Simply Chartreuse

Copics
R24, R27, R29, YR02, BG32 & BG34

Wink of Stella pen
Shimmerz - creameez - Get Glowing
Pom Poms
Hemp

This last one was using a stamp set that I have never used before.  That would be my Rosie Posie step 2.  I love how this turned out.  In addition to entering this into a PTI challenge I also entered it here at Sketch Saturday.  Here is their sketch for this week

And here is what I did

My photo is not the best but it is dark outside and not that bright in my living room.

Supplies:

PTI stamps
Rosie Posie
Rosie Posie step 2
Sketched shapes & die

PTI ink
Ocean Tides
Pinefeather
Melon Berry
Orange Zest

PTI cardstock - Canyon Clay

Die by Simon Says Stamp
Stitched Rectangle

Thanks for stopping by and now that my hand is healed I should be creating a lot more soon!

One more for today.

I follow another blog, Mojo Monday, that also had a really cute sketch this week.  The prize for this last week is your choice of a stamp set over at  the Verve Stamps shop. As I have quite a few birthdays both this month and next it was time to start creating.  Sketch's make this process so much easier as then all that is needed is picking out paper, stamps and ink colors to complete the project.  Here is their sketch for this past week:
